Baking Breads
Can anything be more comforting than the smell of homemade bread? As it drifts through the kitchen while baking in the oven, the aroma is irresistible. It is warm, yeasty, and fresh from the oven. It makes the whole house feel like a warm hug. Well, that’s the way I feel. You may knead by hand or let a trusty mixer do the work, making bread from scratch connects us to generations past. It brings a wholesome touch to any meal.
🍞Making Bread
I don’t recall my Momma making yeast breads. Momma always seemed to make quick breads, and that felt homey. Because of this, I never tried my hand at making yeast breads until a few years ago. I started with a bread maker and moved to kneading my own bread.
Around here, baking bread isn’t just about putting food on the table. It’s about slowing down. It’s about connecting with the process of making bread. It’s about creating something truly satisfying with my own hands.

In my kitchen, I keep a mix of recipes. Some are passed down from friends. Others have been discovered through trial, error, and a lot of flour-covered counters. I’m sharing tried-and-true bread recipes from my kitchen to yours. They range from crusty artisan loaves to quick biscuits to old-fashioned cornbread. There’s nothing more irresistible than the fresh-baked aroma. Let’s get a little flour on our hands and make something delicious together.
Let’s not forget the joy of sharing. It could be a nice warm loaf dropped off for a friend. It might be a basket of biscuits for dinner. Or it could be a pan of cornbread or Momma’s hoecakes to go with a pot of stew. There is something about homemade bread that brings people together. It’s humble, hearty, and full of love.
